The GS-FMS was selected by Trane to complement Trane’s product and services offerings in the Asia Pacific region.  Trane which provides an extensive range of cooling, heating and ventilating equipment and controls systems, and also maintenance services, required a software application that their customers could use to track the systems’ maintenance and upgrades.

The GS-FMS provides the functional fit for Trane as this software provides comprehensive facility management functionalities to enable Trane’s customers to maintain their Trane products and systems.

“With the GS-FMS in place, overall productivity will be improved leading to minimizing maintenance costs. Our first customer using this new software will be Infineon in Malacca which is our largest service contract client,” said Francis Yuen, President, Trane Commercial Systems – Asia.


Chime Long Park, located in Panyu, China is the largest entertainment and theme park in Asia. The Chime Long group also operates the Chime Long Night Zoo and Xiang Jiang Safari Park use GS-FMS for service maintenance for their rides and attractions.


Infineon Technologies offers semiconductor and system solutions for automotive, industrial and multimarket sectors, for applications in communication, as well as memory products.

A new manufacturing facility was set up at the Kulim HiTech Park (KHTP) in May 2006 with the initial investment of US$1bil (RM3.8bil). Infineon Technologies (Kulim) Sdn Bhd will be the main capacity to produce power and logic chips used in the industrial and automotive sectors. GS-FMS will be used to manage the facilities of this billion-dollar plant in Kulim and also the existing plant in Malacca.

“We now have a systematic approach to schedule and control maintenance job and we foresee breakdowns will be the thing in the past. GS-FMS has definitely given us a better monitoring of our asset and standardization of the maintenance duties in our plant,” Phillip Tee, Logistic Director.


The Maritime Department is responsible for the formulation of policies, planning, research, and coordination in respect of maritime matters including ports development, shipping industry, licensing of domestic shipping and seamen affairs. The aim is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of utilizing port facilities, encourage participation of Malaysian ship in domestic and international trade and also to ensure the safety of navigation.
